EUGENE, Ore. - Golfers from five different counties took part Saturday in the ninth annual Special Olympics golf tournament at River Ridge Golf Course.
Over 120 golfers ranging in age from 8 on up into their 60s took part. Some golfers played a full round, while others showed off their skills in the practice area.
"It's a blast out here," said Tyler Cox, director of sports. "Get your camera around to the putting contest - the short/long putt. There's a couple of hams over there. If they see the camera they'll start going crazy."
The best parts?
"Having our golf ceremony and having golf time, just getting in the open doors and having fun," said golfer Chelsey Rust
The top golfers from Saturday qualified for the summer state games this July in Newberg.
