Full Sail University Announces Graduates Who Worked on 2009 Oscar-Nominated Projects

Full Sail University (http://www.fullsail.edu)] is proud to announce that a total of 34 graduates are credited on 15 Oscar-nominated motion pictures this year, with one graduate eligible for an Oscar of his own in the Best Achievement in Sound Mixing category. The Academy Awards will air live on February 22, 2009.
Full Sail graduates are credited in categories including: Best Picture, Best Performance by an Actor/Actress in a Leading Role, Performance by an Actor/Actress in a Supporting Role, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing, Best Animated Feature, Visual Effects and more. Motion pictures that our graduates have worked on include: The Dark Knight (Full Sail graduate personal nominee on this project), Wall-E, Frost/Nixon, Changeling, Iron Man, The Wrestler, Defiance, Wanted, and more.
Gary Rizzo, 1993 Recording Arts Graduate and Valedictorian, has personally been nominated in the category of Best Achievement in Sound Mixing for the film, The Dark Knight. This is Rizzo?s second nomination to achieve an Oscar of his own with his first in 2005 in the category of Best Achievement in Sound Mixing for his work on The Incredibles. Currently, Rizzo serves in the position of Re-Recording Mixer, and has a long history of working on blockbuster films at the famed audio post-production facility Skywalker Sound on George Lucas? Skywalker Ranch in San Rafael, CA.
