July 13, 2013, 6:14am ? Amid rumors that the Google Nexus 7 is getting a new model this quarter, third-party retailers online have cut the price of the 16GB Nexus 7 tablet computer, from the original or official price tag of $199 to $149 to $189. For the 32GB model, prices are down to $170 to $200 from $249.
Retailers on eBay and Amazon also started nudging down prices, we saw one retailer on eBay selling the Nexus 7 for $150 and offering shipping to other countries. Selling the Nexus 7 on other countries is a hit because the Google Play Store?s coverage is limited to America and other major markets only.
According to reports, Google and ASUS will launch the new Nexus 7 this quarter, and it will run the latest version of Android Jelly Bean mobile operating system. And unlike last year?s model, the new Nexus 7 will reportedly offer a back-facing camera, a more efficient processors from Qualcomm and a new display technology with more pixels per square inch.
Additional reports posted on the web also suggest that the release date of the new Nexus 7 is scheduled this month.
